SAT
Results.
Our end of Key Stage
2 SAT results are listed below and they have been compared to national
results.
As you can see our
results have been consistently good for a number of years. The results
are above the national average and we are particulary pleased that they
not only show a good standard of achievement at the end of Key Stage 2
but also that our children progress very well during their time at our
school.
These
results are a great credit to the children’s hard work and I think
they should be feeling very proud of both their efforts and achievements.
This said, and on the back of a series of excellent results, I would like
to say that in my view SAT results are only a single, and very narrow,
way of judging a school.
When considering how well the children are doing, and how we are doing
as a school I hope that parents will consider a great range of things
beyond SAT results.
We do our very best to offer a broad and balanced curriculum and beyond
this as big a range of extra curricular activities as we can.
We hope that we are helping all of our children to develop and mature
in a great range of ways beyond the narrow range of skills measured by
SATs.

Level
4 is a good level of achievement for a child of 11 years old and the level
which the government would like children to be at when they leave primary
school.
Level 5 is the level which the government would like 13 year olds to reach
at the end of Key Stage 3. It obviously represents a very good level of
achievement for a primary school child.

Each year we get a value added score which measures how well our children
progress as they go through the school.
In 2009 our score was 102.1 which was the highest score in Devon andsignificantly
above the national average. This shows that our children, regardless of
their ability, make progress which is much better than might have been
expected and much better than children do on average.

Each year the school gets a Value Added Score from the government which
reflects how well our children progress in English, Maths and Science
as they move through the school.
Our value added score is very good again this year. Once again we are
in the top 10% of schools nationally which is good because it shows that
our children are developing really well whatever their ability.

Value Added :
Every year information is published by the government which gives information
about how well our children are performing in English, maths and science.
A school's value added score measures how well children progress as they
go through the school.
Bradworthy's Value Added score in 2006 placed us 20th position nationally
and 1st in Devon this year. This means that the progress that our children
made is the 20th best in the country.
We are obviously very pleased with this result because it shows how well
our children are doing, however what makes us especially pleased is that
this academic success comes alongside a huge range of other experiences
(such as trips, our play and all the clubs we run to name only a few things)
which we offer our children and which we are equally proud of.
